Our Environmental Commitment
At Urban Spaces, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability, integrating eco-friendly practices into every aspect of our operations. Our mission is to create modular garden rooms and annexes that not only enhance your living space but also contribute positively to the environment.
Sustainable Construction Practices
• Low-Carbon Materials: We prioritize the use of low-carbon materials in our constructions, reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional building methods.
• Thermal Efficiency: Our designs focus on exceptional thermal efficiency, ensuring that our structures maintain optimal temperatures year-round, thereby reducing energy consumption.
Energy-Efficient Solutions
• Insulation: Our modular buildings are equipped with high-quality insulation, minimizing the need for additional heating or cooling.
• Natural Lighting: Designs like The Lighthouse maximize natural light, reducing reliance on artificial lighting during daylight hours.
Eco-Friendly Foundations
• Ground Screw Foundations: We utilise "no digging" ground screw foundations, eliminating the need for extensive digging and concrete, thus preserving the natural landscape and reducing environmental disruption.
Green Spaces Integration
• Urban Green Spaces: We recognize the importance of integrating green spaces within urban environments, contributing to biodiversity and providing natural habitats for wildlife.
• Client Collaboration: We work closely with clients to incorporate green elements, such as living roofs or vertical gardens, into their modular spaces, enhancing the ecological value of each project.
Community Engagement
• Educational Initiatives: We engage with local communities to promote environmental awareness and the benefits of sustainable living spaces.
• Youth Involvement: Recognizing the role of younger generations in shaping environmental policy, we encourage youth participation in our projects to foster a culture of sustainability.
Continuous Improvement
• Research and Development: We are committed to ongoing research to identify new sustainable materials and methods, ensuring our practices evolve with advancements in environmental science.
• Feedback Integration: Client feedback is invaluable in our pursuit of sustainability. We actively seek and incorporate suggestions to improve our environmental impact.
Certifications and Partnerships
• Environmental Standards: We adhere to national and international environmental standards, ensuring our practices meet rigorous sustainability criteria.
• Collaborations: We partner with environmental organizations to stay informed about best practices and contribute to broader sustainability initiatives.
Our Commitment to the Future
At Urban Spaces, we believe that sustainable living is not just a choice but a responsibility. By integrating eco-friendly practices into our modular garden rooms and annexes, we aim to create spaces that are harmonious with the environment, contributing to a greener future for all.
We invite you to join us on this journey towards sustainability, creating living spaces that are as kind to the planet as they are to their inhabitants.
Environmental Impact Example
1.25 tonnes of embedded carbon per tonne of cement

1.8 tonnes of embedded carbon per tonne of steel

If we take a simple 4m x 5m plot and create foundations:
A conventional concrete base would use:

Minimum of 1 tonne of cement producing 1.25 tonnes of embedded carbon

Or 20 ground screws weighting 8.9kg producing only 320.4kg
